Rihab Chaari successfuly defended her Master thesis at ENIS
Rihab Chaari, Master student at CES Research Lab, has successfully defended her Master degree at the National School of Enginnering of Sfax.
Her Master thesis was entitled "Performance Evaluation of 6LoWPAN/RPL".
The Master thesis belongs to the research thrust "Networking and Communication Architecture" of the R-Track Project.
Springer Special Edition: Cooperative Robots and Sensor Networks
We are pleased to announce the special edition of a Springer Book “Cooperative Robots and Sensor Networks” under the book series “Studies in Computational Intelligence”http://www.springer.com/series/7092 which represents one of the largest books series on broadly perceived intelligent systems in the entire scientific literature.
The book will include selected best papers of the International Workshop on Cooperative Robots and Sensor Networks (RoboSense 2012) as well as other peer-reviewed invited chapters. The call for papers of RoboSense 2012 is attached to this email.
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers to RoboSense 2012 workshop. The best papers will then be selected and authors will be invited to submit an extended version of their papers to the intended Springer book. At least 30% of new material should be added to the original papers.
A fast review process will then be made, and notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent back to authors.
The demo paper entitled "A TestBed for Link Quality Estimators Evaluation in Wireless Sensor Networks", co-authored by Anis Koubaa, and other researchers won the Best Demo Award at SensorNets 2009 School.

Anis Koubaa received the Research Excellence Prize at IMAMU
Anis Koubaa received Reseach Excellence Prize, in the category Best Research Work, at Al-Imam Mohamed bin Saud University, March 2010. The Prize was granted by the Director of the University Pr. Sulaiman Aba Al-Kheel.
The winning research paper is
A Time division beacon scheduling mechanism for IEEE 802.15.4/zigbee cluster-tree wireless sensor networks
co-authored with André Cunha and Mario Alves, and published in ECRTS 2007.
Autonomous Navigation of a Wifibot Robot using Odometery for Obstacle Avoidance
This video shows a Wifibot Lab robot navigating in the corridors of the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Al-Imam Mohamed bin Saud University. It implements a simple odometry based algorithm to avoid obstacles while navigating.
The demo shows that the robot is able to navigate freely without hitting any obstacle and efficiently deviating from approaching obstacles. There is no apriori map embedded in the robot ((blind navigation). This work is done under the R-Track project.
